Coaches

Welcome to the Coaches Hub —

Your central resource for everything you need to coach within the Redcliff Minor Hockey Association (RMHA). These materials are designed to support you with applications, training, policies, safety procedures, and development resources so that every coach can lead with confidence, consistency, and care.

Coaching Application & Requirements

All individuals wishing to coach must complete a coaching application and be approved by the RMHA Executive prior to the season. Coaches and known assistants are required to submit a Police Information Check and a Child Intervention Record Check by October 1 each season. If a Criminal Record Check is flagged, a Certified Criminal Record Check must be obtained at the applicant’s expense. The Executive may choose to remove or reselect coaching staff based on this review.

Coach Clinics & Training

RMHA expects coaches to pursue education and certification opportunities aligned with Hockey Canada and Hockey Alberta standards. Coaches are encouraged to complete relevant clinics before stepping on the bench and stay current with best practices, safety protocols, and skill-building methods.

Code of Conduct for Coaches

All coaches must follow the RMHA Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures, which require respectful behaviour toward players, officials, volunteers, parents, and the public. Harassment, abuse, discrimination, or inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated and may lead to disciplinary action by the association.
