Team Managers & Volunteer Roles

Redcliff Minor Hockey Association relies on dedicated volunteers to ensure teams run smoothly throughout the season. Parent involvement is a key part of creating a positive, organized, and enjoyable experience for players, coaches, and families.

Volunteer opportunities will be shared at the start of the season and during parent meetings. If you are interested in a specific role, please let your team staff or RMHA know. Your time and support make a meaningful difference — thank you for being part of Redcliff Minor Hockey. Most roles do not require hockey experience — just reliability, communication, and a willingness to help. 

Team Manager

The Team Manager plays a vital role in supporting the coaching staff and acting as the primary organizational contact for the team.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Serve as the main communication link between coaches, parents, and RMHA

    • Manage team communications through TeamSnap

    • Coordinate schedules, meetings, and team events

    • Ensure required forms are collected (medical information, code of conduct, etc.)

    • Assist with tournament planning, travel coordination, and team logistics

    • Support coaches so they can focus on player development and on-ice activities

This role is essential to keeping the team organized and informed throughout the season.

 

Team Treasurer

The Team Treasurer is responsible for managing team finances in a transparent and organized manner.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain accurate records of team income and expenses

    • Collect and track team fees, fundraising proceeds, and payments

    • Accept cheques and cash on behalf of the team

    • Ensure all funds are deposited in a timely manner

    • Provide regular financial updates to the team as needed

This role helps ensure team activities and events are financially managed responsibly.

 

Fundraising Coordinator(s)

Fundraising Coordinators help support team expenses beyond registration fees, such as tournaments, team apparel, and special events.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan and coordinate team fundraising initiatives

    • Communicate fundraising details and timelines to families

    • Work with other volunteers to ensure fundraising goals are met

    • Track participation and results as required

This role is often shared by one or two parents working together.

 

Tournament Coordinator(s)

Tournament Coordinators help organize and support tournament participation, particularly for home tournaments.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist with planning and coordinating tournament logistics

    • Organize volunteer schedules for tournament duties

    • Support game-day operations such as timekeeping, board setup, and raffle tables

    • Coordinate with RMHA and other teams as required

Home tournaments require broad parent participation, with all families expected to help during assigned volunteer shifts.

 

Game Day Volunteers

Game day volunteers help ensure games run smoothly and efficiently.

Typical Roles Include:

    • Scorekeeping or timekeeping

    • Setting up and taking down boards or nets

    • Assisting with 50/50 draws or raffle tables

    • General event support as needed

These roles are usually scheduled on a rotating basis throughout the season.
